The first Sunday before the first Monday of the year

Sharing is caring!

The heading of this piece sounds a bit like a Bangles song, and honestly the time of the year IS a bit manic – but hopefully we have a few fun days included.

Hello all and a happy new year to everyone.

Today is the first Sunday before the first Monday of the year. I think it’s quite an important day. The day we realise we’re really into it now. The day we have to start to get ready for what’s coming next. Like … the water is starting to sizzle.

I’ve got pharyngitis, so it’s not too great a way to start the year. However, I’m still making mental notes, tidying up, and planning my days ahead. Last year was a tough year for all of us. Personally we had Covid, twice, my husband had other health issues, the economy was bad, my kids’ education (one of whom has special needs) was severely impacted and I burned out. So we have a lot of catching up to do this year.

As I said to a friend of mine yesterday, though, we can’t expect change if WE don’t change.

This year my goal is balance, as I’ve never really had that. Balance is going to take discipline in both work and relaxation. And I’m setting weekly and monthly goals. I’d love to hear what your goals are for the year and how you hope to achieve them. Please share over on my social pages. (You’ll see links to them on this page). It would be great to hold each other accountable.

Here are a few things we can put on a checklist.

  • Exercise
  • Bedtime
  • Wakeup time
  • Diet
  • Me time

I’d like to take the chance to wish you personal and business success in whatever it is you set your minds to.
